Andrew and Mark Hoskins gained their cabinet making skills from the renowned guitar maker, Robert Welford. Subsequently they studied furniture restoration at the London College of Furniture, both graduating with distinction and being awarded the Derek Austin Prize for Furniture Restoration, Conservation and Cabinet Making in their respective years.

Professional expertise and experience was then gained over several years at some of London’s finest workshops, including Spink Restoration (now Arlington Conservation), Gordon Maxwell, and H.C. Baxter and Sons.

Working for internationally respected antique dealers, collections, designers and private clients from all around the world, Mark and Andrew’s work has been exhibited at many of the major English and American antique fairs, including the Grosvenor House London, New York and San Fransisco.

Since establishing our antique restoration workshop in Cambridge 16 years ago, we have built up a flourishing trade restoring antique furniture to the highest standards as well as enthusiastically buying and selling antiques.

We have a small, carefully chosen selection of fine antiques for sale here in Cambridge. Our specialities are English and Welsh country furniture, William and Mary, Queen Anne and early Georgian Walnut furniture and 18th and 19th century Georgian and Regency furniture.

Having a background firmly rooted in cabinet making and antiques, it is antique furniture restoration / conservation that forms the backbone of our work. We offer an extensive range of restoration skills including all manner of woodwork, carving, turning, inlay and marquetry, gilding, traditional wax, oil and shellac polishes, french polishing, rush and cane seating, and replicas. Take a look at our restoration and conservation page for further details.
